Responsible Energy for a Bright Future

We are building a regional, self-sufficient and low-carbon power system based on nuclear energy and renewable energy sources.

This is the GEN Group
The GEN Group

With responsible energy towards a sustainable tomorrow.

The GEN Group delivers reliable, low-carbon energy that drives the sustainable development of Slovenia.

Our power plants are based on nuclear and hydropower, enabling exceptionally low emissions, high efficiency and a stable supply for households and industry.

Through innovation and expertise, we create energy that ensures a safer and cleaner future.

99%
low-carbon – our generation units produce electricity from nuclear, hydro, solar and gas energy.
78%
of electricity is generated at the Krško Nuclear Power Plant.
21%
of electricity is generated from renewable energy sources (hydropower plants on the Sava River and solar power plants).

What We Do

With a clear strategy, the GEN Group strengthens low-carbon generation, develops nuclear technologies and accelerates investments in renewable energy sources and system flexibility – with the vision of a stable, sustainable and responsible energy future.

More about the activities of the GEN Group

Reliable Low-Carbon Electricity Generation

Within the GEN Group, we ensure reliable electricity generation from sustainable and low-carbon sources. The most important sources of electricity generation in GEN Group power plants are nuclear and hydropower.

Investments in Nuclear Technologies

Nuclear energy is a key pillar of low-carbon electricity supply in Slovenia, as it contributes more than one third of all electricity generated in the country. For this reason, the construction of JEK2 is one of the central strategic development projects of the GEN Group.

Investments in Renewable Energy Sources and Flexibility

The GEN Group plans to expand its generation portfolio with new solar and wind capacities and further development of hydropower. At the same time, it is introducing new sources of flexibility that will strengthen the stability and adaptability of the power system.
