Mokrice Hydropower Plant Project

Status
Under development

The Mokrice Hydropower Plant represents the final link in a series of five hydropower plants on the lower Sava River. Its installed capacity is 28.05 MW.

The plant is of the run-of-river storage type. It is equipped with three tubular turbine units with a total rated flow of 500 m³/s, as well as five spillway fields. Average annual electricity generation is estimated at 131 GWh.

The area of influence of the hydropower plant extends from the confluence of the Sava and Krka rivers to the border with Croatia. Measures will be implemented along this section to enable efficient use of hydropower potential while preserving the existing natural balance. Particular attention is devoted to the confluence of the Sava and Krka rivers, which represents a particularly sensitive area due to its natural characteristics. A nature-based arrangement of the confluence is planned, preserving the Krka river ecosystem and the characteristic appearance of the confluence area.

The power plant will be fully automated, without a permanent on-site crew, and will be operated remotely from the Control Centre.
